Let's put every girl's future into her own hands.

The royalties from this book are being donated to Yuwa, an NGO which works to give girls in rural India a better future through football and education.

In purchasing this book, you're not only developing your own leadership capabilities, you're contributing to the development of young leaders who are a world away, but who, like you, are burning to fulfil their leadership potential. Proceeds from the book will build classrooms in a new school for the girls.

Why Yuwa?

I’ll never forget the moment I first heard about Yuwa's work with girls in rural India, and the football and educational projects it has been running for the last 8 years. I was at a Storytelling Summit hosted by Microsoft. Franz spoke about the challenges that girls in rural communities face - the threat of child trafficking, domestic violence, sexual abuse and being forced into marriage as child brides.

As the mother of two daughters, this is stomach wrenching. Franz spoke about the work that Yuwa has done to address these issues - first building a girl's football team that has traveled the world, representing India in international tournaments, and then building a school that is nurturing the girls' rights to learn and helping them to develop the confidence and resilience needed to become authors of their own fate and leaders within their communities.

There’s no ‘best’ path to the C-suite. It’s a winding road with many interesting stops along the way so search out roles that interest you and make the most of them because having a variety of experiences will make you a better leader...And don’t be in a rush to manage people, it’s not the only way to be leader.
— Chris Capossela, CMO, Microsoft

Leadership can be practiced at all levels. Step up or step out the way
— Thales Teixeira, Professor, Harvard University

Stepping Up is the most candid book about leadership I’ve read. And I’ve read many! If you’re keen to become a better and bolder leader, and are tired of the superficial “10 steps to achieve it” or the big-idea-not-practical books, Stepping Up is for you.
— Roberta Lucca, Founder, BOLDR
